Dissecting the Bachelor

Ok, I admit I've been watching lotsa 'trashy' shows like the Bachelor, Biggest Loser, My Name is Earl, American Idol,... since coming to the states. Well, what do you expect from someone who knocks off at 420 and get back to this apartment by 445. Even after a workout and dinner, there's still plenty of time to while away so what to do watch tee bee lor. :P

Today was the finale of the Bachelor in Paris, where the doctor Travis finally made his choice between Sarah and Moana. Well, the clever doctor picked the kindergarten teacher Sarah as expected. I was secretly rooting for Moana but on hindsight I think it was all for the better, think she deserves better than the cockster loctor. Something she mentioned while heartbroken and in tears as she was going away in the limousine struck me, "Guys will never marry girls like me". I think Travis was making a "safe" choice in choosing the kindergarten teacher, giving Moana a pass perhaps because the flame that burns the brightest burns the shortest? And also Moana couldn't really connect with his family. She has a knack of breaking into tears whenever someone asks her a difficult question about Travis, the type about what do you like about him? To me I think there's no explanation for everything, why must people ask these question expecting an answer? To me there's not always a nice answer in words to such things, you feel what you feel and that's what that matters, if there exists a connection then I guess the other person will know. Of course there's also people who're really smooth talkers but that's besies the point....

Back to the show, throughout the series Moana was the aloof and super bo chap person that nobody (including myself) liked. But as the show evolved, she started opening herself up and seeing her get the heart emotionally trashed tonight was quite sad. I swear I can almost feel her pain. For people like her who does not open up or warm up to people fast, I think the pain of rejection is quadrupled. Somehow these 'reality' shows have gotten a tad bit too cruel for me, think I'll give next season of the Bachelor/Bachelorette a pass. Let's hope Moana can find a guy who can truly appreciate who she is.... and all the best to the clever doctor who picked the teacher. o O

Ebola Monkey Man

Happy V-day folks!! Spent the dinner catching a movie and dinner with some friends, we watched 'Last Holiday' starring Queen Latifah. It was pretty funny about her catching some terminal disease and trying to blow off all her money at a last holiday in Prague... Well, I guess all of us would love to live each day like it's your last but dammit obviously we can't spend $$$ like it's ur last... so there's seems to be some kinda conflict of interest there.

For those of you who're wondering what the hell is the ebola monkey man, do visit the webbie http://www.ebolamonkeyman.com/. I'm sure most of you guys who has an email account would have encountered or at least heard of scammers from Nigerian who claim they got xxx amount of money, blah blah blah and they're out to cheat you of yours. The webmaster has a 'hobby' of scamming these dammed scammers themselves. The result is hilarious... I actually came upon this website years ago but due to the fact that a friend recently nearly got scammed, it revived memories of this site. I must applaud the webmasters elaborate stories to bait those Nigerian scammes, for eg preteneding to be an adult industry worker in this story and as Father Will U. Tuchme in another encounter. Of course there's also Mr. Bukakke Visit the site when you're bored with work, your colleagues will be wondering why you're laughing. Enjoy!

Snowboarding

It's been some time since an update, basically the reason for this period of inactivity is simple... I've been bloody playing so much civilization 4 (John's also hooked now) and pretty not doing other stuffs. In fact, I think it keeps me focused cos I'd go straight to the gym after work, take a shower and then pa game!! :p
Luckily, life is not as boring as it sounds and there was a little blip on the radar last saturday. We wento some place south of Indiana called Perfect North where I had my first stab at snowboarding! It wasn't so much snowboarding per se but more of eating snow dust. Gosh, I can't remember the last time I took so many bumps, probably only during the first unarmed combat course did I take more falls... Anyways, I had lotsa fun fooling around and doing my 'superman' stops, i.e., falling flat on one's face until you grind to a halt. :P Our dear friend XH was the most gung-ho among all of us, he wasn't that fantastic a skier but nevertheless went to challenge the 'black diamond' aka the most hiong slope in the place. He mentioned that he stood a full 10 minutes at the cliff before going for it, and boy he basically just tumbled his way down the slope. It was freaking hilarious, and he was so satisfied with himself for doing that it just showed through his grin when he came back after it all... Didn't take too many photos this time, so I guess I'll just upload a few of 'em here.

Stupid idiot supposed to take pics of us snowboarding but instead started taking pics of herself. duhz. Never trust a gal with a camera!!

XH looking satisfied with himself after his infamous tumble, there's even snow on his glasses.
